This type of welding requires the current to pass through the plates to be welded, obtaining a localized melting temperature, which, together with adequate pressure, effectively welds the interposed elements.

The copper alloys required in this field of application are: CuCrZr and CuCoNiBe, which guarantee excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and stable mechanical characteristics up to medium-high temperatures.
